After spending the holidays finalizing my grants in between extended periods of lying on the couch, going to the gym and snowshoeing, I had mentally prepared myself to get back into the office today to prepare for next week’s deadlines and the start of the teaching semester but it was not to be. Mother Nature saw fit to send another big winter storm our way and this time city officials acted proactively and ordered a mandatory shutdown of all educational institutions today.
And so it is that I find myself working at home for the 4th snow day of the winter. Yes, that's right ... this is the FOURTH snow day and the worst is yet to come.
This time I’ve definitely got cabin fever as yesterday’s snowshoeing adventure was so spectacular that upon returning home I immediately went online and ordered a pair of mindblowingly amazing snowshoes as I’ve already outgrown the entry level pair I bought last month.

What was the shoe upgrade?
ReplyDeletePictures or it never happened! I adore a good pair of snowshoes, which is ironic since I hate the actual weather conditions that would mandate wearing them.
ReplyDeleteI'm upgrading to these and this is a shot from yesterday (and no, I'm not in the photo). Feel free to express your jealousy.
ReplyDeleteI find it totally fucking hilarious that you have turned into a snowshoe aficionado!!
ReplyDeleteDude! What's so fucking hilarious about me taking to snowshoeing?? It was either that, ice hockey, skiing or snowboarding ... and I can't skate, ski or snowboard for shit.
ReplyDeletejealousy - HAHAHAH. I shoveled way too much of that crap in my younger years.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely 70 deg where I am and I love sitting out on my deck with my laptop:) thbbbbb.
wow!! That is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI would gone skiing though, telemark skis, but that because I have never used snow shoes and I like to gliiiiiiide ;)
I miss my skates..... maybe I can find them when I get home but I think the ices will be gone from the lakes.
And I am sory but I do not feel the sadness of being locked in for a 4th snow day. GIVE ME!!! =)
time to dash to work. Good luck with the shoes
